I was fortunate to be raised in a family rich in creativity, where artistic expression was nurtured from an early age. Drawing and painting have always been a natural part of who I am, but it was a school trip to a Monet exhibition in London that truly awakened something profound within me. Standing in front of those luminous canvases of sunlit landscapes and gardens, I discovered a lifelong passion for Impressionism. Their radiant interplay of light and colour, the rich textures, and the vitality of every brushstroke captivates me. I have sought to capture that same sense of atmosphere and movement in my own work—to create paintings that celebrate the beauty of light and the fleeting poetry of a moment.
I have a lovely studio at home in the Derbyshire town of Belper. It is a cosy place when the British weather is at its worse. While I enjoy the quiet focus of painting a still life indoors, my passion is to paint en plein air. There is something magical about working directly from nature—immersed in the landscape, observing the ever-changing light as it dances across a scene. With a vibrant palette and expressive brushwork, I strive to convey not only what I see, but also what I feel: the energy, atmosphere, and joy of being present in that moment.
